"C'mon Marisa, you can't get away that easy!" the oni girl laughs hysterically as the ground violently shakes every other second, and small boulders and danmaku bullets scream past your head. You'd dropped your broom a while back while escaping the crazed demon, who seemed to be having way more fun than was legally allowed, and was now frantically racing across the uneven terrain, tripping up and losing your footing, grabbing on to branches and grazing your knees in a mad panic. This girl was so much easier to fight while airborne! You pitied anyone who'd had to have faced her like this.

Well, except other oni of course, as you vividly recall that fierce battle with the underground Deva of the Mountain. She relied on brute strength, except at the time, so had you as well. And she had respected that, because the oni play fair, and honesty is one of their better traits. However, this didn't seem very fair---

The barrage suddenly stops. You twist around to find Suika standing with your broom, a little smile playing on her face. "Hey ho, Marisa. Looks like ya dropped somethin' back there. Thought you might have wanted this, y'know? Kinda looked like you where in trouble there, trippin' all over your feet and stuff." as she casually throws the broom back to you, you catch it in your right hand and hold it tightly, and throw back to the small girl a look of confusion and puzzlement. She sighs in mock frustration and waves her hand at you, "C'mon, c'mon, go! Or this battle's gonna take all day! And if that happens, I'm not gonna have any time to fight her!" You suddenly understand and grin wildly, "Hah, yeah right! Like I'm ever gonna let the likes of you have the first battle of the New Gensokyo!" and you take off on your broom, now able to draw your own cards, and you lay down a charm that sends a reverie of stars cascading and plummeting to the ground, while the oni's black holes draw them in and destroy them. It really looks like the conflicts of space on earth. How 'bout that?

But as usual, you decide to put the little girl out of her misery, as the duel drags on for ages, and you realise that there are, sadly, much more important battles to be had, and you finish of the demon with one swift spark, demolishing the new forest in a matter of seconds. Well, maybe swift is the wrong word then...

"Oh my, it does look exactly the same doesn't it? Very impressive..." remarks a familier voice from behind you. "Was this your doing, Marisa?"

You start to smile, and that smile deforms into a wide, tricksters' grin, one to rival that of the tanuki and kitsune themselves. "Ah, Reimu, what took you so long? I was wondering when you'd get here!"
