| Description | Today, 9th of July 2010, youtube announced they'll be supporting "4K". A recognized resolution in film theatres, completely unheard of in the world of online streaming. Then again, fullHD streaming was also unheard of until 7 months ago. From that point on, the amount of high-definition videos rose enormously. The exact resolution is 4096×3072 for 4:3-based clips, 4096×2304 for the more recognizable 16:9-based videos. In the quality drop-down box, 4K is currently called "Original". That was great news. So I wanted to take it into practice as one of the very first. My video editing program, namely Sony Vegas, seemed to have no problem being set to 4096×2304 at the usual NTSC framerate of 29,97fps. Finding the right kind of images for this slideshow was slightly more difficult than usual. For that reason, I picked a relatively short touhou song, nothing can beat the Touhou Soccer BGM. Upon rendering, I found out neither Mainconcept-h264 nor WMV11 can render at 4K, so I tried an xvid render and it actually worked. What the hell. XviD being its shitty self, it turned out to be 60mbps. I could swear xvid had a limit of 10mbps, but alas. So I'm practically the first touhou-uploader which has a video up in 4K resolution. Though such an extremely large resolution of course has no practical purpose whatsoever at this point in time. It's cool as hell, though! Enjoy some extremely highres Cirno art! As a side-note, I doubt I'll make another video at a resolution of 4K soon.
