I've been meaning to kick up an arrange of Broken Moon for a while now. Bearing in mind that it's actually one of my favorite themes in the franchise, it's about time. However, unlike you'd think, I don't dig the original that much, actually... Granted, Suika is a powerful character, she's one of the allmighty four devas. Her theme is meant to portray the menace she stands as. However, I can't help but think Broken Moon's (or Oriental Memory of Forgathering Dream for that matter) best excelling grounds are that more of a beautiful, moving intake rather than an upbeat and cheerful melody the one from SWR carries over.

Seeing as TAM's version reproduces around youtube like bunnies, I thought it'd be rather useless-fu to bring it out. Sure seems like the time is ripe for some QLOCKS here, so let's do the do here!

QLOCKS's new stuff is a spout of awesome, that's some beautiful stuff they've got there. Granted, none of the other tracks employ this same melancholic vibe, they're exactly what you'd see coming from QLOCKS, gorgeous, yet upbeat melodies with a very wide instrumental background.
While we're at it, hop on TF's channel to get a taste of the rest of their album. I think

sums up pretty well what to expect. Granted, there's a lot of vocals jumping around and even a slight jazz touch here and there, but that's got to be my favorite track. It totally hugs the antics behind Cirno if you ask me.

Broken Moon always gives me goosebumps, fact. More than a touching melody, it is the powerful, gentle oni lady (rather than the silly drunknut we've come to believe in!). As such, it definitely warrants a great sir of the piano to render something righteous to this notion. It's pretty dandy.

As I skim through this one, I can sort of picture Suika gathering with the other oni and engaging in a grand feast that will never end, the broken moon that will never cease to shine.
