In fact, it should be known she is probably the one single Touhou at which my love does not wave every so often, and it's been that way for far too long. Usually I will just gradually grow into a character and eventually overlook it amidst the countless others, so you could say I like pretty much everyone. But there's one little certain doll... For starters, the antics behind her name are a burst of bliss. ZUN will definitely nab any little ditty of inspiration everywhere and snap, just like that, come up with a Touhou equivalent. As I probably mentioned before, I've got a real weak spot for characters developed under poison shenanigans, they simply give off both a charming and mysterious charm at the same time, I don't know. I wouldn't be able to put it into words this time around. Secondly, Medicine herself is aim to a sheerload amount of empathy, being a rejected, tattered doll. Despite of that, to still be able to convey such a vibrant smile and attitude around is truly laudable. Granted, you could always look on the dark side of the matter. Dolls will not draw out any meaningful expressions regardless of whatever circumstances, will they? Maybe Medicine holds an immense cynic persona underneath her graceful, composed manners and gestures, which is incidentally a little like poison itself, eh? And whether this song makes righteous justice to Medicine's persona is frankly moot. The thing is, it's addicting, so addicting, it's almost like poison. I love it when Masayoshi tackles his stuff alone. The suzuran are at full bloom. As Medicine skims through a sleeping Nameless Hill, the melody taints the air a venomous aroma and an exo-tropic mix of cloudy purples. The moon shines atop the hill of the un-living, the poison body of the forsaken doll. |
