Oh goodness... How fuzzy and warm it feels to stray back to Retrospective 53 Minutes and Renko/Maribel-esque uploads in a whole... It could sound a little gratuitous but this always inspires a mood of retrospection and analysis for me. GJ, ZUN. The incredible repertoire you churned back there conveys over a very ethereal vibe, sorta just kicks your troubles and ordeals into the dust and sends you lost in the sea of thought...

Should it be known that I'm going to engage on yet another little Renko/Maribel chain of sorts, branching off to many Original CDs or other material I find related. If you're not a fan of Original CDs then I apologize. However, if you are as much of an enthusiast about them as me, than I hope you will enjoy this little streak!
Retrospective is more than a whim, it's truly a good way to kick this resolution off.

I've landed here now and I'm kind of lazy to get peek onto the wikia but I remember the moment where Legend of Aokigahara kicks in and our necromancer duo is traveling below the, alas, Aokigahara forest. Maribel is as pierced with an uncomfortable pain, a spike that shoots through the gap. Being very sensitive to the rips in the gap, she's left with unease, as Renko explains why would that be happening at that particular spot.

It so happens the daunting grounds of Aokigahara that branch off for a 35km^2 area hold one of the most thrilling tales of the world and it's no wonder it's made its way to the magical rhapsody of Renko and Maribel.
This forest has since the 19th century been known for a "good" place for suicide. Presumably, Maribel's distress stems from the souls of the dead, the ghosts that lie in the eerie lifeless sea of trees. The place itself is nearly deserted of life, and being a very dense forest, no wind blows in, casting a very awkward quietness throughout the spot.

It's no wonder that in the world of the two girls from the Sealing Club, the border to the Netherworld would show rather bold.
Granted, the plotline from R53M flows on to Tokyo and the underground Fuji is a mere moment in the shinkansen trip, since they are going to Higan after all. And if Higan warrants an exploration from the boundary-crossing duo, Aokigahara would be a pretty interesting setting here, and it's a pity it's only been scratched for a paragraph or two.

The Forbidden Forest the souls of the living cannot trespass, the dreaded centuries of tainted bloodshed spread, scatter an uneasy mix of red and green across the lifeless vegetable life, the imposing shadows from the dense trees that cast darkness atop the monotonous flowers ever so devoid of grace...
And as our necromancer club skims through the trails of the dead, a new tale is about to unfold...

P.S. I wonder if it's just sheer coincidence that the recent yearly average of suicides in Aokigahara is 100 and this upload is virtually my 100th as well...
