The story revolves around Nitori and her friends journeying through the plains of unknown and trying to find their way back to Gensokyo after being sucked into a mysterious hole (Do correct me on this if I'm wrong). The gimmick of this game is similar to that of Touhou 8 ~ Imperishable Night, as such that it utilizes team characters. The team character selections are Nitori / Momiji, Cirno / Suwako, and Keine / Mokou. Similarly to the style of IN, each characters have their own style of danmaku attacks and they can be switched via the focus (Shift) button. The visuals of this game is stunning with its 3D graphics and the characters are really flashy and colorful, accompanied by a variety of interesting and challenging spellcards. The music, composed by Nanasy from the circle "Like a rabbit", is pretty nice and lends quite well in setting up the stage atmosphere. Bugs known so far: - Points allocated in High Score instead of Score. - Character rendered immobile if go to the very edge of the screen. On a personal stance, I find this game to be pretty tough and challenging. Aside from still learning how some of the spellcard works (some spellcard's behaviour correspond based on your Focus / UnFocused character. This literally threw me off-guard on the first play-through), there are many instances that I misinterpret the hitbox size of the bullets. So... expect many deaths on these parts... orz |
