Touhou ~ Riverbed Soul Saver is a Fanmade Touhou Danmakufu game made by ido, the same developer who made "The Last Comer" and "Mystical Power Plant". The full version of the game was recently released on the developer's blog for the 6th NicoNico Festival Event. The Extra Stage was recently released in the mid-September 2014.

There are a total of 8 attempts made for this Extra Run. The first 6 was done via Futo (new playable command) and Reimu with no usage of liberation whatsoever (3 attempts each). Once that failed, I decide to utilize liberation and cleared Extra on the 7th attempt. Unfortunately, the replay prompt did not show up due to a bug in script 1.00c. Thankfully they were quick to fix it with a patch (script 1.00d), and the run was cleared a second time on the 8th attempt.

The entirety of the Extra Stage is pretty satisfactory and challenging. The stage portion heavily requires you to utilize your liberation gauge as there are a ton of enemies popping in at once. Additionally, there are certain fairies which are tanky which makes surviving in a no liberation run significantly harder (though, it's fun).

In any case, a familiar face returns as the Extra Stage mid-boss. Somehow, I find her spellcards a lot harder than the actual Extra Stage boss herself. In regards to the Extra Stage boss, her difficulty is a mix bag for me. There are some spellcards/non-spellcards which are pretty manageable, and some which are quite ridiculous (I'm looking at you 10:11 ). All in all, It's a pretty enjoyable match.

Also to say, I'm enjoying the Extra Stage music quite a lot. I'm certainly looking forward to see what WanWan has in store for future releases; both in-game and standalone.
