When the heroines happened across her, she was easily beaten. Reimu attacked simply because Orange was a youkai, and Marisa attacked simply because Orange was in the way. She has no special role in the story. Fun fact: Orange (オレンジ) may also be connected to Chen, whose name means "orange". So she is PC-98 character and she is stage 1 boss in Lotus Land Story. Fandom info about Orange: Some fans say that Orange and Meiling may be the same person. Meiling is stated in Perfect Memento in Strict Sense to be an extremely human-like youkai to the point where it's possible to mistake her for a human, and Orange herself tried to pass herself off as a human to Reimu. Meiling also tries to pass herself off to Reimu and Marisa as "just a normal person" in Embodiment of Scarlet Devil. Also, Marisa's battles with both Meiling and Orange has Marisa commenting "You're in my way". So it's possible she may have been part of the inspiration for Meiling.
