For those who are curious about the difficulty of the stage in this video, it was set on Easy. It was merely set to that difficulty as a test pilot.
The difference between each difficulty are as followed (as least, that's what I found so far) :
- Treacherous Stage layout depending on chosen difficulty.
- Danmaku shot by bosses increases
- Damage received increases

It's been a year since we last heard of the Scarlet devil mishap. The mistress of the Red Castle has been subdued by the denizens of Gensokyo. (namely the Hakurei clan, Kirisame clan.... and Cirno). However, peace has yet to be restored, as another incident has risen up from its grave.

Alright enough jabbering,
It appears that the crew of Frontier Aja has been working on a sequel, 紅魔城伝説Ⅱ 妖幻の鎮魂歌 (Koumajou Densetsu II). The latest installment of Koumajou Densetsu features Izayoi Sakuya as the protagonist with Hong Meiling as her companion.

The trial version of this game was sold at the recent Reitasai SP event (例大祭SP). The full game would most likely to be released on.... Winter Comiket, if I'm not mistaken (I probably am, though the credits of the game however, gave a hint).

The previous game featured the EoSD crew, so naturally, the sequel would revolve around the PCB cast (Hence the boss of this stage and the Saigyou Ayakashi tree silhouette on the main title ).

Frontier Aja had certainly improved since their last debut, in terms of graphics, gameplay and music (Let's not talk about the difficulty, this is a trial version for pete's sake). Various attacks have been implemented, allowing you to hack your enemy to any way you please. Kick them, slice them, do what you will to eradicate your enemy. But that's not all, a new time-stop feature (ofc, It wouldn't be Sakuya if such feature wasn't implemented) has been included as well, however it does not freeze the enemy upon casting; rather, they will freeze momentarily after you attack them. (Would definitely be useful on those armored soldiers)

Red souls functions the same as before, it depletes upon the usage of projectiles or calling your companion. Flight mechanic has been reworked as well. It depletes your mana upon activation.

Game art and music is fantastic as usual.

What else can I say? Those who enjoy the previous Koumajou Densetsu game will definitely enjoy the sequel as well.
