When you get around a Fires of Hokkai arrange, you'd expect yourself in some eerie, perhaps entrancing vibes, ore or less like that. Granted, it's a last stage theme, the antics amidst the whole composition would be to drive you real odd and make you bounce off the walls, you see, build up some suspense to the final showdown... But no, no. Kumicho would like to concurr against that. He would like you to believe Fires of Hokkai is actually some sort of post-climatic chululu theme of closing moments. Fires of Hokkai is really hot. I can't get over it. It pumps you up, shit is sick. But it's sick in its own peculiar way... Oddly, it feels more like some sort of prologue to the real battle more than a full fledged theme, and it does a lovely job at that, and then again. Kumicho scribbles and fools around with this notion and churns this one here out. In Soviet Knights of Round, Fires of Hokkai is more than a pseudo-cosmic mind. It's actually more of an ending theme if you ask me. The heart beats that are arguably this song's staple are thrown to the bin and a different composition kicks in. This is almost what I like to call stadium rock. Snow Patrol-esque, know what I mean? So all this beating around the bush to tell you that this indeed supports my hypothesis that Fires of Hokkai a full fledged theme on its own right, certified. I can almost picture the dying moments of a chaotic showdown between Sanae and Byakuren as I skim through this one... The song never does progress into a crunchy environment, but that may be fruit of a hard fought battle. The final danmaku is shot and both succumb to their feet. Oh man, we could almost shed a tear right here. Thanks for watching! |
