DescriptionTitle: 竹取飛翔~fly high~
Artist/Circle: CrossGear
Album: 東方疾奏曲
Original: 竹取飛翔 ~ Lunatic Princess )Flight of the Bamboo Cutter ~ Lunatic Princess)

People fond to techno must be familiar with a circle named CrossGear.
They tend to include both Techno and Classical pieces in their few albums, and from time to time they like to add a bit of metal elements to both.

But this one in particular, was a very different one since it was their first attempt on releasing a full metal song, including some really beautiful classic elements. Simply the intro is awesome, and the signature koto played on the original song is played on real guitar in this one. Actually I consider that is the best part of the song, as no one else has done it this way.
I'm not very fond to the mix tho, the treble is flying around everywhere, and it can cause some pain to your ears. Be warned that a good pair of earphones might help you to enjoy this song a whole lot more.

"This is Kaguya Houraisan's theme.
Smooth, huh? (Haha) This song brings out a feeling of aloofness.
I don't express emotions through songs, I make songs with emotions.
And really, the game makes the songs.
They're not very cool and modern, are they? (Haha)
I'll admit I'm no pro." ZUN@MusicRoom Imperishable Night.

You just can't love ZUN comments reviewing his own creation. However I think he totally got the wrong idea about his music. I mean, I can't be sure of he does or doesn't make the songs with emotion as he states, but expressing emotions trough songs? A voyage around this Youtube area would be enough to prove that.

Lunatic Princess has never been among my favorites. By some strange reason I dislike a part of the chorus were the lead just mutes out....it feels like if something were left behind in the process.
However, and as usual, arranges make your head to turn around and listen to the original more carefully, in order to understand what you the arranges you are loving, like this one.

Random Touhou Fact: Did you know Kaguya, and the whole of Imperishable Night, is inspired by the Japanese legend of the Moon Princess, also known as the The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter, sometimes called the legend of "Kaguya-hime" (Princess Kaguya)?

Thanks for watching.
