Description | Title: R'N'R 1969 Artist: 鷹 Circle: CROW'SCLAW Album: Frozen Frog Original: ヴォヤージュ1969 (Voyage 1969) At first the reference of this song with ZUN's original might be difficult to listen. However, after some time you will understand that Taka's idea was incredible. I enjoy a lot this album because, the CROW really managed to turn things upside down for ZUN's music. It's true that ZUN's composition are inspired from jazz and classic, even progressive rock at some point. However Taka's work to transform everything into genres like Southern Rock, Blues, and Rock and Roll are worth to mention, it's just something you need to have on your collection. On the recent EP CROW'sCLAW released, there were a lot of references to this kind of work. Gradually, Taka's work has gone heavier and heavier. We first had "Frozen Frog" that is what I just explained. Then "Crossfire Barrage", breaking into the realms of Heavy Metal, and finally "Brutal Games of Reminding Death" that featured very agressive riffs, a really heavy distorted guitar, and trash (as in the genre) drum work. So, did the EP we herd means that Taka is returning to his first works? "The 20th century voyager-- The Noah's Ark of the 20th century flew into space, carrying with it hopes and fears. And yet, were its hopes left behind on the moon? Here in the "future", in the 21st century, only fears and a handful of illusions seem to be all that were brought back." ZUN's words are, without a doubt, what must be called the awful truth. Perhaps this description is the one I like most of all his works, because he points out what we do ourselves once we set a lot of expectative into an event. We let us fly, full of dreams and hope we achieve what we want. However after a time, we forgot were we left those hopes, and we get nothing but fears and illusions. Thanks for watching. |
