Album: Hi! NEW SCAPE
Original: ルーネイトエルフ (Lunate Elf)

"I thought of water and mist, and mixed an omen or two. In many ways, it resembles the feel of older titles. I don't really know why there's a Stage 2 anyway (^^;"---Zun@MusicRoom

By some unknown reason I don't understand, making the selection of the songs on the last few new updates has turned particularly difficult. After thinking it over and over again, I decided this was one song it was worth to listen to.

By the "not very often" but "always nice to listen" circle "Discord Registers", comes this album (released actually on the Comicket79) with only 5 songs. Unfortunately, most of this songs weren't particular my favorite. I don't know why, but this album seems like a little bit under the standard quality this circle tends to have. However, this one track appeared out of the nowhere, and listen it over and over it again I decided it was a good choice to share. Besides...how many metal "Lunate Elf" arranges you know?

While the EQ and mix of this song isn't particular the best, I found the keyboards pretty incredible, driving the main melody with an interesting twist, and the guitar making some cameos here on there.
At first, the drumming and the rest of the keyboards seems a little bit off, but after listening it quite a few times I felt in love of the feelings the keyboards where trying to tell. After all, "Lunate Elf" is one nostalgic song, and there are times on it where you don't know if the song is meant to be sad or cheerful and happy.

After "Ruse Rain" (or "Loose Rain" however you may call it) , song on "Fairy Wars" that features Daiyousei as a "boss" it is kinda hard for me to decide what song is my favorite. for one part, "Lunate Elf" has this nostalgic 90's feeling that makes the music of EoSD incredible, and it is also a very good memory when I first met Touhou games. However, "Ruse Rain" is such a bad ass theme, more dark and without doubt more dramatic than much of the past themes ZUN has composed. It is kinda weird looking back in retrospective how ZUN used to compose, and now the newer style he uses. However, without a doubt, both songs are worth to listen in any flavor or genre it comes.

Aparenty Daiyousei sits along with Nazrin on the "minor characters but epic music" corner.
