Morrigan delivers ('bout time dammit).

Morrigan has been busy doing this and and that and whatnot (with his techno songs), so this time round he decided to provide us, with some orchestral love, firstly with a Type-Moon orchestral arrange album (we all know how big of a fan Morrigan is of TM's works) and in this album, a solo compilation album by the J-pop singer "Aki Misawa" (if you think you've heard about her before it's from Myon's 16th video on Lyrica). It's a compilation album with 4 new songs, from which, this colab with WAVE's MORRIGAN.

So OK, that aside, the album is full of your techno songs, with artist like Masayoshi Minoshima (Alstroemeria Records), REDALiCE (ALiCE'S EMOTiON), D.watt (IOSYS) and Tsukasa (Sound Online) all featuring Misawa on vocals. EXCEPT, the first track, which is THIS.
I'll say that Aki's voice is quite enjoyable, very mature, and has a nice ring to it, although normally I'm quite turned down by orchestras with vocals in them I'll say that this time Morrigan managed to pull it off smoothly (well of course, it's Morrigan after all).

So ok, let's get to the core of this upload. Wtf DID Morrigan arrange? "Strange Bird of the Moon, Illusion of Mysterious Cat" is your answer, but what exactly is it? Well actually neither have I heard of this theme much until now, in fact I DO NOT have any arranges of this theme, except this one, that just got introduced to "Emiya's iPod" today. We all know ZUN's original CDs, Magical Astronomy, Retrospective 53 minutes and Ghostly Field Club. The last one is a pretty... forgotten music CD, very few arrangers decide to really pay attention to it, and it narrates the very beginning of Renko and Maribel's story. Here, give it a listen:

The song itself is gorgeous (even though the original itself isn't very breath-taking, just creepy), though I still find Morrigan's usual orchestras better, and much more epic, the slight presence of techno in this arrange which really brings out a very "creepy" vibe to the song is great and above all I love the evident folkish vibe in the arrange.

The first image is a very creepy image of Maribel.
And, what's with the Yukari image? Well I couldn't really find that much of an epic Renko/Maribel image for the song, so the idea of Maribel being Yukari came to me and I saw this image, with Yukari inbetween the border of Gensokyo and what we call the "Human world".

As always, thanks for watching!
