DescriptionTitle: Is it so?
Artist: IRON - CHINO
Circle: IRON ATTACK!
Album: Concerto of the Scarlet Elements
Original: 妖魔夜行 (Apparitions Stalk the Night)

Remember I've told you it was difficult to choose what song to share with you? Well after listening it over and over, and seeing one of the most epic pictured of Rumia I've seen, I couldn't resist more. I really wanted to share this with you, since in this song, I feel IRON ATTACK! sounds more like it used to sound before they produce mass quantity of new albums every year.

I don't know if this last issue is somehow reletead to the quality of their arranges. Could be an issue, could be not, after all it has been that IRON ATTACK! kinda mixes famous power metal songs and Neo Classical ones with Touhou arranges. This by any means, ain't bad, but perhaps that combination can be misleading sometimes, and make the song not sound so good as one would thought. I already lost the count of how many albums IRON ATTACK! has, but they are a lot, and without doubt is the metal focused circle with most works on the way.

However, there are some songs that still demonstrate the talent behind IRON ATTACK! This particular song has been attached in my head over the past days, and it is by far the best rendition someone has made to Rumia's theme. It's nice to see how Touhou is not only about the game, but also about the characters, the music and the concept behind them. Normally one would think 1st Stage Bosses themes would get underrated to the fact they belong to a weak and non important character (non important for who anyway. Somehow Cirno has reached huge success among fans even she is the 2nd Stage boss of a game). However, I can recall excellent renditions to 1st Stage Bosses.

"Apparitions Stalk the Night" it's very nostalgic. It's funny how, it isn't a lot for time since I first played EoSD (4 years almost), and this game isn't exactly what you can call retro. However the music behind EoSD (the secret is that the pitch is raised about quarter of tone than in any other keyboard) gives you this retro feeling of mid 90's.
This particular songs gives you that feeling, and I can say that without a doubt "Apparitions Stalk the Night" it's one of my favorite 1st stage themes. However, I must accept that my favorite in those terms is "A tiny tiny clever commander".

"Rumia's theme.
Not just this, but all the music this time is meant to
be light. This comes from an image of youkai in night.
...or, at least, I hope so (^^;
It's fairly relaxed and a little silly." ----Zun@MusicRoom

Thanks for watching.
