Some of you are already aware of Miskyworks, others like myself may have found out about them only recently. As of this month, the group has gone on indefinite hiatus. This upcoming Comiket was meant to be their last, but unfortunately the group was denied a space this year, and thus disbanded earlier than anticipated. As a farewell gift to the community, Kirinagi has decided to release all his previous works to the public for free. You can find those, and more information of them, on their site at miskyworks.net To be honest, even though I don't know this circle very well, I do feel a little saddened by the news. It feels like a really ignominous way to go, especially since this is Kirinagi's last chance to make a ripple in the community (atleast, in this capacity). I imagine it must have been a slap in the face to lose out on his last Comiket like that. Of course, an indefinite hiatus isn't necessarily a permanent one, so here's hoping they make a return someday. In any case, his works are now available online. When I was listening to them, I found myself blown away. This was incredibly good music. For the longest time, I sat and thought of an appropriate word to describe what these songs made me feel. There are cookie-cutter words like 'awesome' or 'great', but really, the only proper word I can think of is 'beautiful'. I think Miskywork's arranges are absolutely beautiful, and I hope you do as well. Until then, take it easy! |
