On this album we have Utashima as Renko, and Gao as Merry. The songs themselves are internal monologues for those characters. This one was slightly harder to put together.. have you ever tried looking for pics with Renko/Merry in a cafe? There's not much of them around. Hence why I used a real life picture of coffee as part of the first song. Translator's Notes (drip+drop): Some phrases were translated as "equivalent phrases". Example "I think I deserve a medal for ..." comes out of the literal "I try praising myself for...". (I try to not overuse this tactic.) "naive" is the same word for "sweet" in Japanese. "how you..." is because it leaves open the target of what she's "selfish" about. I take it as an implication of love. (｢･ω･)｢ Translator's Notes (whip*syrup): I took a little liberty with the wording, but the meaning's all there just the same. I thought about trying to put it in more "Merry-speak" but that would have just been weird. Let's just all think of Merry-speak as an act. :p I love the whole coffee thing, not only as a vehicle for the happiness Merry experiences with Renko, but a wonderful metaphor for their relationship altogether.
