Oh god, you can almost see it coming, uploader being ultra insurgent regarding overlooked, useless character for no good reason. Well, I'm not gonna get myself in a twist over it, but everyone's so oblivious about this theme it's almost sad. Like hell, I think the actual theme is a thousand times better than Rika itself, haha. It's almost like she doesn't deserve, like pitiful, little insignificant piece of 'boss' getting such an awesome track, geez! Fortunately, that's not really it, either! It stung so hard in my heart just now when I brought myself down to say that, Rika's got a very special place in this fanboy heart of mine, ceritified. Story of Eastern Wonderland was my very first step into the PC-98 ware, being a first boss and all, I could almost hug Rika right on the spot, screw dodging. I don't know about the fowks of you, and hey, neither is Touhou a technological brain twist, but now now, don't you just feel all warm and fuzzy in that old layout environment thing? The way games were back then, the rash bit atmosphere filling your mind? Isn't it just beautiful? I always get such a blast when playing old games, even easy ones like SoEW. Moreover, Rika's actually a really loveable character... I like the antics, the premise behind Nitori, but design-wise, I'll let you know it's not my cup o' tea. Rika's like my little fanboy asylum for little geeky girl loving, beautiful. I'll let you know how dreaded it is to skim around this little world of ours and come across good Rika fanart... I was almost driven into uploading the original one. Okay okay, maybe not. Some video that would be, little icon image standing in the dead middle all the time, lalala. Either ways, I think I gathered the two single best fanartzies of Rika right here. Of shur, danbooru was rendered useless quite quickly, so I dove right into pixiv. Even if only for being reject-tan, hmm. You always tend to be on the side of the weakest, as if you're watching a really unfair soccer/basket game (chh, whatever floats your boat) and are rooting for the one faction that will get crushed, just out of mere sympathy for their misery. Oh well. I've got 5 arranges of this so far, it's really pitiful, I should probably deal with that... If I don't forget her in the meanwhile. That's it, I'm replaying SoEW this weekend to chalk these characters on the board, definite time. You'll surely be seeing more from this soon enough. And you will know whether I am lazy or not, depending upon the destiny of this resolution. |
