Around some couple years ago, when they released their first album, it took more than 1 year for them to release the second one. All xi on fans kep wondering if they were going to continue on the Touhou scene or not. Luckily for us, they did continue, and from that day, they keep releasing albums every year. Today we feature a song included in their 8th album. I'm pretty sure there has been at least one song of each "spell" in the channel, except for the last one that was a remix album of previous works. However, this 8th album has new content, full of those crunchy guitars and beautiful melodies that always leave us clear who is one of the leaders in quality when it comes to Touhou music. This time however, it isn't focused on music from one game only, bur rather a more mixed album. The cover of the album displays a really gorgeous image of Cirno, however the album isn't focused on "Fairy Wars" as one might think. However, when people informed me xi on was going to work on "Magus Night", I didn't think it twice. That was the one I was going to feature, because if someone could do justice to this song was xi on. Magus Night has transfroemd into one treasured song for me. I consider it really blends the style of the old tone of ZUN with the new one. Of course I absolutely loved the fact that he included some guitars, such as he did with "A tiny tiny Clever Commander". On video #265 I mentioned how some people are starting to feel that ZUN music has become repetitive and doesn't have that ZUNish vibe anymore. Leaving that topic aside for this video, I've consider "Magus Night" to be one of the best recent works ZUN has composed in the last games. In case you are wondering, or you have always wondered what is that object that Marisa is always drawn with, here is a little quote I make from Touhou Wikia: "Despite being a western style magician and fitting the classic image of a witch, Marisa's most precious item is an eastern style Hakkero: a mini furnace in the shape of an octagonal block with the eight trigrams printed in a circle on its front. Despite its small size (it fits easily in the hand), it is a potent source of magical energy and has the firepower to burn down a mountain. Marisa usually uses it like a normal furnace and treats it with good care. It is the only treasure Marisa collected that is used and taken care of on a regular basis. Marisa is frequently depicted using the Hakkero to power her Master Spark. The original Hakkero was an item in the Chinese classic "Journey to the West", where it was used by gods to create spiritual medicine. " For the last comment, allow me to inform you that most of the musicians that are featured in this channel are safe from recent Tenshi attack to Japan. ZUN has been confirmed he is in good health. Takase from Magnus Opus has already answered to a PM I sent saying he is fine. MyonMyon also did confirmed by MSN. Taka from CROWSCLAW also sent a message via twitter (apparently some of his furniture was damaged) he is OK, along with Godspeed. Tokunan from Demetori reports that a friend of him has been injured, but is making process, while he is out of trouble. Unfortunately I don't know any more information about the rest of the artists featured in this channel, so feel free to share any information or question you may want to ask.
