Typical humans, you'll always side together..." The demon coughs and wretches, struggling to stand, thus beginning to heave all of her weight onto her staff. "Mima, it's not like that, she's my friend---" The young witch pleads, "Friend!?" The apparition suddenly regains her strength and bolts upright, staring down at the girl as if she were a stain on the rug, and screams in bitter amusement. However, her tone changes, and she slumps back down, still grasping her staff so tightly her hands have turned red. She sighs heavily, "I thought I'd taught you better than that, Marisa. However, I suppose it is in your nature to feel emotion, after all... there's honestly nothing I could have done, I suppose." She stares at the ground in pure shame, not noticing the magician closing in on her and placing her arms around the demon firmly. She jerks back in surprise, still trapped tightly in the girl's embrace, who now has her eyes locked firmly on her old mentor. "She's my friend, Mima. She has been for a while now. And you've been gone almost as long, too." "Y-yes, that's true..." "But," the witch starts, "it doesn't matter, for you'll always be my beloved teacher." Her eyes have started to brim with tears, but she forces them down; her expression stays set like concrete. The charming demon smiles. "And you'll always be my beloved apprentice, Marisa." She begins to dissolve into a white, translucent mist, and dull, clouded tears roll down her face, "I'll see you again soon. I promise." And she disappears once more. "You'll always be my Master, Mima." The girl falls to her knees, head in her hands; and cries. |
